Story of my Life

17 Miracles

I saw 17 Miracles with my mom yesternight. I was wary to see it, knowing the sad story of the Willie-Martin handcart company. Due to many complications, they had to set out much later than they otherwise would have. Levi Savage, a sub-captain, advised the inexperienced group not to go. He was publicly reprimanded for his lack of faith and rebellion. Man, that would be hard! I sorely felt for him.

The group faced extreme weather conditions. I was amazed at the superb skill the actors showed forth in portraying emotion. The make-up was wonderful. Many a time I was staring at the faces because the skin seemed to be peeling off because of the cold; some parts of the face had yellow tints in it, the lips were lined in blue.

The movie showed many heart-breaking scenes, and many heart-warming scenes (contradicting, huh? ;)). One story that particularly moved me was that of George and Sarah. They wanted to wait until they reached Zion to be married. The question was, will they both make it? They don’t know what’s going to happen! I can’t write it all down, what was in the movie, what really happened. You have to see for yourself. It won’t mean as much if you find out through a blog. >_>  ;_;

It evoked deep emotion in me, making me want to be more valiant and strong. It produced a stronger testimony in miracles. Sure, I believed in miracles. I believe being converted is a miracle, I believe He sends many small miracles every day. Yet, I must not have known He can and will perform the big ones, too. They were in sore need, and had the faith sufficient to receive His miracles and be grateful for them. Their faith was astonishing!

^_^

Please go see this movie!

Mariah

Hello!

We welcome summer here at We Three Can't Agree.

I am preparing for swimming lessons at the moment! But I had to take a brake to write to you about what animal I REALLY REALLY WANT! SERIOUSLY! Look: Oops. It is above. WELL ISN'T IT ADORABLE? Laura and I decided it would be named Atticus (Finch)! HOW ABSOLUTELY AWESOME?!?!

Well, now I need to get ready for another SPLENDID SUMMER DAY!

Things I Learned Today

  • Human Battleship is really fun
  • One of my leaders I never took the time to get to know before (I am sad I didn’t seek out the one) is actually really fun. I tried to be friends with her, and found it really easy to do! She is so kind and bright. I am so excited to get to know her more at girls camp.
  • The boys in my ward like to cheat (most anyway)
  • I like parenthesis (don’t you?)
  • ePrep is AWESOME! I have developed a hatred  festering disliking for  bad opinion of ACT prep books. They are so boring and so eeeeg… I am a computer girl! So ePrep has turned out to be so helpful to me. It has structure, videos with explanations (and the person writes very neatly, which I enjoy), and a clean look and feel.
  • It is insanely fun to pretend to be an overweight and evil Russian overlord.
  • “Dream” by Priscilla Ahn is my favorite song. Really.
  • Have a listen if you'd like <3

Hope you learned a lot today, too. :)

Love,

Mariah

A Good Start to the Day

It’s very humbling to see how someone we typically stereotype and try to stay far away from can be just like everyone else, and maybe better than some of the folks we associate with. I am so happy to see he found success. :)

Here’s his first TV commercial:

You go, Ted!

Enjoy,

Mariah

Dear Laura and Emma,

Please start blogging again. I miss your blog posts! I don’t have facebook anymore, and I am not getting a new one, so I don’t get to keep in touch that well. Maybe I will have to start calling you more.

Or you could update our blog! ;)

Have a great summer, guys. Also: Let’s hang out soon!

Love,

Mariah
