Busy, Busy, Busy!!!

Dearest readers,
Wow Mariah! I am glad girls camp brought so much good to your life! Now I am anticipating for the great joys to come at my camp experience. At the moment I am actually packing for my girls camp. Unlike Mariah, I quite like packing! Especially with lists! I love lists! :D I love to complete lists and use check marks when I am done! Well, my life is on full speed busyness! I woke up at six, cleaned up my room. My room was quite a sight. I can not remember it being SO messy! I am in the middle of packing for camp and my vacation, of which I leave the day after I get home from camp. I miss my pool, I think I shall go swimming today..... yet do I have time? Ehh I will make some. I can make time work for me. Well when I get home my life just keeps getting more and more busy. What shall I do? It's is summer I should be relaxing, right? Well I will make it a grand summer and enjoy each step of the way, no matter what I am doing.

Girls Camp 2010!

Hello! This is Mariah typing. I just got back from girls camp this morning. I was very very tired, which is expected. How is it that at Girls Camp we can be so tired? one may ask. Well it all consists of careful proceedings. For instance, our door was left open on the tent and we were freezing our toes off all night (why we didn’t get up and shut it I don’t really know). Then we stayed up very, very late the next night. A few girls and I tried to think of pranks for the leaders, but they were all sleeping and way tired.

But on the bright side of things, the second night was testimony meeting around the camp fire. That’s always my favorite part. I listened to what each person was trying to express. I could feel how close the things they said were to their heart and their very beings. That it was something that had truly changed their lives. I felt the spirit that night testify of the love God has for each of His children. I find it so amazing that I can mess things up and trip over some of my same weaknesses, but that Heavenly Father still loves me. The Savior still loves me and has atoned so I could repent and be rid of the lasting guilt I feel. It reminds me of the hymn, I Stand All Amazed. (Check out the link because it’s a great song)

If anyone on here is searching for the truth and has stumbled on this page, please consider the divine intentions of the Father. That there must be a reason you are here now. That He is trying to reach you and wants to let you know He loves you.

I have a testimony that God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ live. They are not in past tense! They live! They do love you, and they love me. I know we are spirit children of our Heavenly Father and that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He atoned for us even when it caused Him so much anguish. Love overcomes all, truly. I do stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me. Often I am confused, and I can feel His love envelope me and testify that the answer is that He loves us! He was obedient to the Father and volunteered to be our Savior on earth. I do know that the only true church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that the prophet Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet today and receives revelation for the church from God. I have received this testimony because I asked through prayer what was right. I asked for His spirit to be with me as I read the Book of Mormon, as I kept His commandments and as I tried to understand. I have truly been blessed as a result. :)

I would like to close my blog post in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Happy Happy Summer!

Dearest readers,
Isn't summer so very sweet! I love everything about it! Even the rain, then sun, then rain, and the all around moody weather. I want to read a good book! Any suggestions? Well I am off to do some more summer activities!

How dare they! How can they do this to us? They give us purpose for life for 9 months then take it all away for three. Leaving us to do nothing all summer but sleep in the sun on the tramp.

The Phantom Poster

LIFE and what it is all about.

Dearest readers,

Emma speaking. Again. Wow is it my turn to be the super blogger?

Well today I wanted to tell you about life. Plus all the ingredients it takes to make it the wonderful world of our being. Today, I guess, is the first official day of summer. At least that is the report on facebook. I have a horrid cold. Which is okay because I do not have to worry about school and I could have just taken today to rejuvenate. Yet LIFE does not always play out picture perfect. At eight in the morning my mom came into my room. Not too early, except I had planned to sleep in longer. She said "Emma it would be a good time to wake up for three reasons. 1 You have summer house chores to do. 2 You have the ACT to study for. Oh and 3 One of your bunnies mysteriously got out. Now your cat is tormenting it as they chase each other around the pool." I awoke immediately, jolted out of bed. My mom continued "Emma, there is no need to rush. What could happen?" What could happen!!!! My cat could get hungry, there is a hole in my fence and I could lose my bunny forever, there are birds that could carry it away, and neighboring dogs could jump over the fence! Okay I was over reacting a bit because I have not really been getting the right of amount of sleep. So I went to my backyard and there is my bunny flying on the ground with my cat right behind. Great thing that my cat really is a kindred spirit and would not hurt a bunny. Yet my morning had just began.

I ran straight outside, without foot protection. My cat, who loves me dearly came right to me. I first went to investigate if the gap in the fence was covered. No it was not. So I got my fire place lid and covered it. Then I started to see if the bunny would just come to me as the cat did. Remember I am deprived of sleep. No free bunny would come running to me, to just be put in a cage. After 10 minuets of no such luck, I called for back up. My mom. Yet my mom is not an animal person. In fact it is very strange that I have the pets I have. She has even threatened that if I get another pet she would move out. I requested for her help. She replyed saying "I have to do some work inside." and "I don't want to touch the creature.". Yet reluctantly she came to my aid. Then went straight to weeding. I was floored, I needed help! Reviewing this makes me laugh so hard. Well she began to tell me about if I would rather be weeding or chasing my bunny here and there. Uh I would rather weed! I would believe she too would rather weed. Hence why she was pulling the weeds at that moment. Then as I continued to chase the bunny, now with appropriate shoes, she warned me not to step anywhere there were weeds. Well that was virtually impossible. Well I did something I usually do not like to do. I gave up. So my bunny and cat played. In the end of their play date my cat was more afraid then the bunny. I do occasionally let my bunnies out. When my brother-in-laws are here, they have a funny competition trying to catch them. I have a bunny catching device at hand for times like this, but of course my parents had cleaned the garage just the Saturday before and I did not know where it was to be found. So I had my mom call my dad to see if he knew where it could be. When she finally reached him at his work her conversation went like this "I have three reasons why I am calling you" (Again with the three reason). "1 Since we switched to Utopia our phones have been doing weird things." I called out saying BUNNY!!!! BUNNY IS THE SUBJECT AND REASON FOR THE CALL!!! Onward with her conversation "2nd reason: I have a lot of yard work planned to do today, I hope to get things done, with all my new free time" I said! BUNNY, WE NEED TO FOCUS ON THE BUNNY! Then Mom said " Oh and 3rd the bunny is in the yard, where is the catching contraption." You can see where my mother's prioritize are. HAHA my mom is the best. She makes me laugh all day long. Yet during the whole ordeal I did not think it to be so funny. Yet with sleep and writing my story, I have realized just how funny it really is. In the end, after a hour or so, the bunny was safe and sound in his cage. I don't understand why it would rather hop around freely in the open air, then stay in its two roomed house. Just tricking as my niece would say. Hey I wonder how long my bunny was out!

So that is my life for you. At least one strand in the quilt of my life, so remeber. Life does not always follow writing rules. Yet it never stops leaving you smiling at the end of the day.
SO LIVE LONG AND PROSPER,
EMMA!

Summer Life!

Dearest readers,
This is Emma speaking. Well I have had a great few days! Yesterday was kinda the last day of school. After attending the "lastish" day of school, I was thinking to myself that my mind did not realize it was the last day of school. Well to celebrate a year of school, my friends planned a sleepover! During the last week, together we planned a "feast" week. In seminary we have these feast weeks and read a hour of scriptures a night! Mariah was away in Disneyland (lucky! I wish I could live there!) so she missed the last feast week. So we decided to hold our own feast week. It was great! Yet after all the reading we were not done. Feast week would not be feast week without a party to celebrate! Okay I must explain something. My amazing mom is teaching seminary at our high school. She teaches the special needs class and I had the privilege to help her! It was wonderful! Well so we held our feast week at the seminary building in my mom's room, which is perfect and where it should be held. So that was way fun. I hope if anyone reads this finds joy in it..... I just like writing it so I can look back and smile! :D We also went to the John Schmidt concert which was fantastic! He is so talented and hilarious. Then we had the sleepover and stayed awake till 3:20.... Yet today I don't feel tired.

So today school was almost optional. We were not obliged to go, but were welcome to come. So we went! We brought paper to write notes as we asked our teachers the most valuable life lesson they could share with us. It was super! I learned a lot of great things. I am very pleased with my first year of high school. It was wonderful. SO THAT'S WHY MY START TO SUMMER IS THE BEST! :D
Thanks for listening!
Emma

The Touch of the Master's Hand

The Touch of the Master's Hand

It was battered and scarred,
And the auctioneer thought it
Hardly worth his while
To waste his time on the old violin,
But he held it up with a smile.

"What am I bid, good people," he cried,
"Who starts the bidding for me?"
"One dollar, one dollar, do I hear two?"
"Two dollars, who makes it three?"
"Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three."

But, no,
From the room far back a gray bearded man
Came forward and picked up the bow,
Then wiping the dust from the old violin,
And tightening up the strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet,
As sweet as the angel sings.

The music ceased and the auctioneer,
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said "What now am I bid for this old violin?"
As he held it aloft with its bow.

"One thousand, one thousand, do I hear two?"
"Two thousand, who makes it three?"
"Three thousand once, three thousand twice,
Going and gone," said he.

The audience cheered,
But some of them cried,
"We just don't understand."
"What changed its worth?"
Swift came the reply.
"The touch of the Master's hand."

And many a man with life out of tune,
All battered with bourbon and gin,
Is auctioned cheap to a thoughtless crowd,
Much like that old violin.

A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on.
He is going once, he is going twice,
He is going and almost gone.

But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the touch of a Master's hand.
