Reading the News
Okay, well I now know that I don't want to be news journalist. Not that I was considering that before.
Emma
But in other news... I feel like I need to end in a more happier note! Um... Well how about I propose a question. Why does everyone at BYU love the show "The Bachelorette"? It is rather odd.

I Don't See a Sign, Do You See A Sign?
Throughout the afternoon, the sky was drizzling us with bits of rain, not a lot, but enough. One of my friends at dinner said, "we should go build sandcastles at the volleyball court!"
Hmmmm, I was try to decide if this would be fun. I thought about how I love being in the rain, I love building sandcastles, and I promised Mariah that I wouldn't neglect me spontaneous side. So I decided that I most certainly should go! So I did.
Besides, the only thing all the other girls were doing was watching YouTube videos. Not spontaneous or adventuresome at all.
Well me and two of my friends began to make a sandcastle! Then moments later a group of four girls from our ward came with branches they found scattered on the ground. I came up with the awesome idea of designing the tree of life vision! Our castle was transformed into the great and spacious building, the branches were used to make the tree of life, and the iron rod and river of misery were quickly made.
Fun. Fun. Fun.
And then...
Here shows up a Campus Police Officer!
Yeah... for your information... Creating sandcastles on the volleyball quart is not smiled upon by the grounds so they have police protect it!
Well the police officer is the funniest guy I have ever meet! He even let us take pictures with him. He did take our names and numbers and majors (last one just out of interest) for a report. But it won't effect us at at because "we were awesome kids and did all he asked." But now I can brag that I have participated in activities that required police involvement!
So after that we tried to do something allowable and it was chosen to play a frisbee game... Which you know, that is just down my alley. Cough NOT!
So I convinced some of my friends to go to the new Spiderman movie! <3
I SHALL MAKE IT KNOWN NOW! While all you guys fight over the Avenger men I CALL SPIDER MAN! I CALL HIM!!! No disputations.
Well, before I get ahead of myself. Richelle Sutton had us go to this ice cream shop before the movie. It is called Farr's Fresh and it is DELIGHTFUL! I walked in and saw the daily special. This sign I did see. If you get the right amount of frozen yogurt and with tax the price comes to exactly 5 dollars, then your fro yo is free! I thought that was humanly impossible and went on my way randomly creating my Frozen Yogurt.
Then I went to the cash register. Place my mess of a yogurt on the scale... and the register man said, "You are good to go."
Huh? Wait, don't I have to pay?
Nope. I hit five dollars exactly! How awesome is this! Very awesome, i will let you know.
And then, Spiderman. He has converted me to geek-ism. I will now be searching for comics. And will be writing my research paper on superheros, and HIS HAIR!
His hair, his glasses, his him being him!!!
AH... Now for homework and such.
Can't wait to be back with my Brigham friends soon!

That Magic
I was telling my mom yesterday how I wondered if I would ever see them again, and how much I missed them. We walked into our local grocery store and guess who I saw? One of my favorite people! One of my dearest friends who I tutored! It was amazing and such a tender mercy.
There is something magical about the way little kids look up to the older ones who teach them. Love that feeling. It always makes me want to be better and live up to the way they see me. Not that they think I am superwoman or anything-- I just want to be better because of them. :)
Look around today. Have you seen the hand of the Lord in your life today? I promise He is there. Look, and you will see.
Love,
Mariah

Doctor Who
Years ago, I was trying to find a decent video for Mr. Blue Sky. I had heard of Doctor Who once or twice from the mystical land of the internet, from which I had been delving into. I was actually considering becoming part of the fandom, or at least trying out an episode or two. I was a bit afraid of the geekiness (Doctor Who is far away from the nerd realm and more into the geek territory) that was sure to come with the liking of Doctor Who. Anyway, I got over this thought and continued with my life.
So here I am looking for a video to this song and stumble upon a Doctor Who one.
This confirmed my thoughts that Doctor Who was a weird fandom never to be touched.
So I didn’t touch it.
…
Until like two months ago or something. And now I cannot stop liking it.
Now, I am a girl who takes her fandoms very, very, very, very siriusly. My first fandom was Harry Potter. I was cerazay about that one. Still am, but in a less cerazay and more ‘normal’ way. And I have never been cerazay about anything else like I was about Harry Potter. When I started getting less cerazay about it, I felt like a part of my childhood and innocence and wonder was dying a bit inside me. It still sort of gets me right at the insides of my heart when I think about it.
I dunno if I will let Doctor Who be like that.
I told Emma once to let herself get into the Hunger Games fandom. Like, wholeheartedly get into it—because it is the most fun ever to have a fandom. It comes with a price though. Like most things do. (These random sentence fragments are getting me, so I shall stop with them now) (Oooh magic parenthesis)
Now, Emma. You are in for a wild ride if you decide to like Doctor Who. And it is a decision.
Love,
Mariah

Dear Friends,
Quick break-- dont want to be too deep do we?
I am craving to watch Dr. Who... I guess I am one of those nerds destined to like this series. Mariah lets reserve the two weeks I have off before fall for Dr. Who.
I have to say though that Texas made me one-gazzilion times more homesick. It really showed me how my life has changed and how some of us are going to different paths. It was hard to be with people I was so comfortable with, had all the inside jokes, and then come back and try to find my place here. Though I am finding it! Inch by inch. And everyone here is amazing. But it isn't that friendship and happiness you find with those you hold dear to your heart the most.
Deep again. Another quick break? MUMFORD AND SONS IS COMING TO SLC!!!!
Well at this point I want to beg my dear friends to blog. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! I need to hear from my friends and learn about all the awesome adventures we find ourselves stumbling upon.
And I will conquer another week of BYU! :D
Loves,
Emma
Promise me you will write?
