Maaaagic

Children from around the world, sit around the cozy fire and listen to your crazy ole auntie (that’s me, Mariah) tell ya’ll a story. The story of Tabitha Jane.

Our story starts a long time ago right wherever you are today. For Tabitha, it’d be a day hard to forget.

It all started the day Tabitha’s cousin Andrew came over. He suggested they go out in the back yard and throw the old ball around. Tabitha didn’t much like that game because the old ball usually ended up hitting her. She agreed after some compromises (she’d get his pudding at lunch the next day) and they trotted along.

It just so happened that Andrew threw the ball a little harder than usual. It sailed past Tabitha and into what began the large forest. She hesitated for a minute wondering if she should go get it. All of the stories the older kids had told her started to sneak into her mind. Ghosts—snakes—wolves. There was rumored to be an old lady hiding in the heart of the forest who gobbled up little children. Of course, Tabitha didn’t believe the latter story. Who’d ever heard of people who ate other people?

“TABITHA! Go get the ball!” Andrew’s massive voice broke into her thoughts.

At first she ran, then slowed to a trot. Finally she stopped all together. She could see the ball just inside the forest. Tabitha forced her feet to move one at a time, and she focused on the ball. But it sure seemed to take a long time. After a while Tabitha took her eyes off the ball and was surprised to see that she didn’t know where she was.

Tabitha looked to her left—only trees surrounded her. She looked to her right—more trees. She slowly turned her head behind her and realizes she’s lost.

Just as she’s turning back, a scary old woman eats her. And that’s the end of our old friend Tabitha Jane.

That’s me being lazy with the end and killing her off—MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NO ONE CAN STOP ME!
