You hear the TARDIS materializing:

He asks you to come along:
The first thing you see on your first adventure is:
A mad Hermione. Better not blink. Or move. Or look away. She could kill!
Your approach as a companion:
Looks like I am obsessive and loopy…
You meet Captain Jack Harkness:
You run into an evil villain:
You get captured by the evil villain:
… I am suffering. And I am happy about it? Or others are. Those jerks!
The Doctor finds you!:
Didn’t know he cared so much about beauty!
You defeat the villain:
You return to the TARDIS:
You return to Earth:
The Doctor asks you to continue travelling with him:
Yeah, I had to do this when I saw the meme (meem) online! It was too awesome to resist. But it looks like my story with the Doctor is a little odd. For instance, I encounter a mad Hermione…

Jane and Mr. Rochester
Yeah, I know I am blogging a lot lately. Sorry. But, I know you love it. So….
Jane Eyre is such a lovely book and I have really enjoyed the 2011 film. Now, frankly, this book/movie does not get enough love. So I decided to draw the lovely Jane and Mr. Rochester. D’aww…
This was drawn and painted completely in Photoshop Elements 8, with a
Bamboo Capture tablet, took 1 hour to complete.
Love,

Why do we even have blog titles?
Yesterday was quite fun. I got to help clean my grandma’s house, which is always… an adventure. She is what one could call a ‘hoarder.’ I love her even if she gets a bit attached to her things. Besides, sometimes she gives me some awesome things!
Yesterday she gave me something I will truly love for the rest of my life. You may not enjoy this as much as I do, for you may not enjoy the blissful feeling of a newly sharpened pencil. The point! The cleanness of the writing afterwards! The smooth wood! ;D
Haha, yeah she gave me a pencil sharpener!
Also a lovely camera.
While I was there I found an old ticket from when my Grandma and I went to see Nancy Drew. I had been in a Nancy Drew kick and read a LOT of those books. She and my uncle would buy me all of the Nancy Drew books the saw, and they apparently saw a lot, because I sure had a lot. Well, anyway. She had sent me an invitation, telling me she wanted to see Nancy Drew.
I showed her the ticket I found, but she didn’t remember. It made me sad to think she had forgotten, but I also felt good knowing she knew now. It was a sweet memory, one that should not be forgotten.
I love grandmas. I love my grandma especially. Don’t they just hold a special place in our hearts?
Love,
Mariah

Figure Drawing for the win!
Oh hey. I have been doing some figure drawing complimentary of this website. It is super fun, and gives me a chance to practice using photoshop and my tablet. Not super grand at it yet, but that is what practice is for.
*If you want to use the site, make sure you specify if you want to use nude models or not.

Alright, I can’t stay here for long
but I have to tell you soooomething! (que music)
I have a testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I am soo so grateful for Him in my life, and I know that if He weren’t a part of it I would be one depressed and heartbroken chica. He is the light of my life.
I am grateful for Him.
If you have been getting feelings you should change something in your life, like maybe a Sunday activity you do that isn’t a Sunday activity, a person in your life, a website you visit, a TV show you watch, how your thoughts wander onto things that aren’t good or beneficial, then maybe it is time to change. Break up with the world and seek the things of a better! Lay those things aside and leave them alone.
And sometimes, we must even give up something good—something we love for our Heavenly Father.
A story written by Karen Nolen, which appeared in the New Era in 1974, tells of a Benjamin Landart who, in 1888, was 15 years old and an accomplished violinist. Living on a farm in northern Utah with his mother and seven brothers and sisters was sometimes a challenge to Benjamin, as he had less time than he would have liked to play his violin. Occasionally his mother would lock up the violin until he had his farm chores done, so great was the temptation for Benjamin to play it.
In late 1892 Benjamin was asked to travel to Salt Lake to audition for a place with the territorial orchestra. For him, this was a dream come true. After several weeks of practicing and prayers, he went to Salt Lake in March of 1893 for the much-anticipated audition. When he heard Benjamin play, the conductor, a Mr. Dean, said Benjamin was the most accomplished violinist he had heard west of Denver. Benjamin was told to report to Denver for rehearsals in the fall and learned that he would be earning enough to keep himself, with some left over to send home.
A week after Benjamin received this good news, however, his bishop called him into his office and asked if Benjamin couldn’t put off playing with the orchestra for a couple of years. The bishop told Benjamin that before he started earning money, there was something he owed the Lord. The bishop then asked Benjamin to accept a mission call.
Benjamin felt that giving up his chance to play in the territorial orchestra would be almost more than he could bear, but he also knew what his decision should be. He promised the bishop that if there were any way to raise the money for him to serve, he would accept the call.
When Benjamin told his mother about the call, she was overjoyed. She told him that his father had always wanted to serve a mission but had been killed before that opportunity had come to him. However, when they discussed the financing of the mission, her face clouded over. Benjamin told her he would not allow her to sell any more of their land. She studied his face for a moment and then said, “Ben, there is a way we can raise the money. This family [has] one thing that is of great enough value to send you on your mission. You will have to sell your violin.”
Six days later, on March 23, 1893, Benjamin wrote in his journal: “I awoke this morning and took my violin from its case. All day long I played the music I love. In the evening when the light grew dim and I could see to play no longer, I placed the instrument in its case. It will be enough. Tomorrow I leave [for my mission].”
Forty-five years later, on June 23, 1938, Benjamin wrote in his journal: “The greatest decision I ever made in my life was to give up something I dearly loved to the God I loved even more. He has never forgotten me for it.”
But He won’t forget us for it.
I promise.

Mariah

LIFE ROCKS!
Today I dove into a book by John Bytheway! Such a great author, especially for the youth. His small but wonderful book I am reading is called "Life Rocks!- How Firm Is Your Foundation?"
I have loved reading this quick but uplifting read. I will be able to finish it the same day I began it!
I love reading uplifting books on Sunday. I received some wonderful guidance in its pages that I needed and I would like to share it with you!
"Sometimes life comes at you in waves. What is the safest thing to do when a big wave is coming? Oddly enough, the safest thing to do is go right at it. Turn your canoe so that it's pointing at the wave, and paddle towards it. If you try to run from it or turn sideways, the wave will tip you over. In the same way, the safest way to navigate the sea of life is to go right at it. Have a plan, set a course, and get moving. You know the purpose of life, but you must also come to know the purpose of your life. The gospel gives us the plan!"
This paragraph gave me wonderful insight of the attitude and direction I should be maintaining in my life. I love how words that seem so perfect for you can come right at the direct moment you need them most. I now have an idea of what I should be doing with my life right now.
Specifically special to me was the phrase "GO RIGHT AT IT". I feel that with in this coming week I need to go right into my new adventure and push away any hindering thoughts that I may have been allowing to occupy my mind. This is my next step and I should use it as a mighty stepping stone not a stumbling block. I am not sure why I was letting the next step of my growing up scare me so, if I am scared then I won't be prepared to be in a place where I can benefit from it. I need to go straight at it with enthusiasm!
Well guys and gals! I am back! Now I am going to make a request for Laura the Guitar to write about her Florida experience and I want to hear from Mariah all the productive things she will be making for her coming adventure of college!
I know all you agree!

Any guess? Any?
No... Not Hufflepuff. Though it does seem to fit me... :P
LET IT BE GRYFFINDOR!
Surprising huh? I always secretly wanted to be gryffindor but thought I was doomed to be Hufflepuff. Not that being such is a dread... I just wished to be courageous! Which I am not.... Haha. I have come to conclusion that I must be a Neville sort of gryffindor! I am definitely 'ight wit that!
Well I was going to talk about other things but I'm not feeling it now.
It's not you,
it's me! ;)
